Navy brings joy to child patients this Christmas season

The Civil Military Operations Group-Philippine Navy, in partnership with the Philippine Navy Officers’ Wives and Husbands Association (PNOWHA), have teamed up to bring joy to children who are currently staying at the Center for Health Improvement and Life Development (CHILD) Haus in Ermita, Manila on December 16, 2020.

Led by Ms. Rachel Cruz Bacordo, wife of the Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo AFP, the Philippine Navy, donated some 26 gift bags and seven gift boxes consisting of hygiene kits for the patients’ health and welfare especially in this time of pandemic.

“The PN and the PNOWHA continue to deliver selfless service to our poor citizens, as our commitment and in fulfillment of our desire to make life better for all,” said Mrs. Bacordo adding that the gift-giving is one way of saying that the nation can depend on the Philippine Navy at all times.

The gift giving is part of the Philippine Navy-wide Christmas Celebration 2020 Program that aims to support humanitarian efforts and spread the spirit of Christmas to deprived children who are diagnosed with critical illnesses.

The Center for Health Improvement and Life Development (CHILD) Haus is the first and only temporary home for indigent children with cancer. (Jimmyley Guzman, PIA-NCR)
